We create unique characters that entertain and empower. Take Kobi The Warrior and his Tribe, for example. Kobi searches the world for those with the potential to be Warriors, helping them to begin their journey on the Warrior's Path. He and his Tribe fight to keep the forces of evil and chaos in check. You know: spilled milk, messy rooms, traffic jams and crazy relationships—all the battles of modern life!
Aiya Saigua, our company's name, is pronounced Ī-yah Sī-gwah
“Aiya” is a Chinese expression used to convey surprise or frustration. The pronunciation of “Saigua” in Cantonese means watermelon, though it is spelled differently. As a child, Pam, our Creative Director, made up this playful nonsensical phrase that was fun to say and it became her battle cry. As she developed her warrior characters, Aiya Saigua! became their battle cry too. When we began the journey of launching a new business, Aiya Saigua seemed a fitting name for our company.
We believe in the importance of personal growth and lifelong learning. Following a path of growth and self-discovery, each of us has the ability for constant improvement. We aspire to help you on your Warrior's journey through entertaining and inspiring characters and their stories.
Pam Liu is Creative Director and Co-Founder of Aiya Saigua. Pam's awesome job allows her to combine her love of kids, characters, and drawing. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Kansas, Pam's motivation for the company is rooted in both Eastern and Western values, and her desire to foster these values in her two young sons. Her love of cute characters began early when she would save her allowance to buy Hello Kitty markers, pencils, and stickers. Soon Pam was drawing her own. Her characters have a unique design aesthetic influenced by her architectural and engineering education and serve as a platform to promote growth, creativity and fun.
Sean Morgan is Managing Director and Co-Founder. He was born and raised in the foothills of Colorado, where he watched one too many Samurai movies. This resulted in his studying Asian culture and philosophy, which can be very handy when we are creating new characters and stories. Sean met Pam while studying aerospace engineering at the University of Kansas. After designing big airplanes for Boeing, his path lead him to business school at MIT. Now a veteran of several startups and a successful entrepreneur, Sean brings his experience building and growing companies to Aiya Saigua.
